JHD (John Haratzis Designs P/L) is a creative entity that has, and continues, to provide an array of skills and services that is bespoke, with the attention to quality, detail, value and commitment to many different and varied clients needs JHD has accumulated a wealth of knowledge which would make us suitable to fulfill your objectives both creatively and technically.

JHD has over the past 40 years has established a reputation as leading Scenic/Mural Artist for Feature Film and Television in Australia.

JHD has been Designing and Concept illustrating for a range of various retailing products, such as Lancome, Dolce & Gabbana, Bvalgari, Channel, Clinique, Davidoff, Elizabeth Arden, Joop, Marc Jacobs, Mumm, Yellow Tail, Nokia, Yves Saint Laurent, Nokia, TDK, 3, Toyota, Myer and David Jones. We work in all areas involving 2d and 3d, from the microscopic to the extremely huge,  renowned for conceptualizing, art directing and being hands-on with design, have had experience with short and long term projects. always delivering results of the highest standard within various budgets and constraints, and contracts to often lead teams of creative and technicians. We have achieved and produced remarkable and memorable results which is often engaged with boundless energy, an extraordinary flair and passion for design.

There are private commissions that are the pride of our clients who’s properties are in Sydney and the North coast while other work can be found in private collections Australia wide and overseas.

A Brush With Depth is primarily a visual, 2 dimentional, Painting and textural skill base.

There have been many commissions with a varying degree of creative licence.
JHD scenic art capacities are firmly integrated with the digital design systems of major architecture and interior design firms. Our use of software such as Photoshop and Maya enables the seamless integration of his art with the larger architectural design rationale.
Some murals are as large as 30metres X 200metres attest to the fact that scale is never an issue. From chapel ceilings to billboard size photo realistic paintings, the only obstacle is the size of your imagination.

JHD has worked closely with Directors and Producers to produce the necessary visual reference for a production designer to interpret their ideas.

Splinter Design draws on many different skills, for example;
in 2007 JHD under took the challenge of creating a diverse range of children's rides and experiential spaces which were housed in an amusement centre called Clown Town. Within this centre JHD also undertook to design the fit-out for a laser tag centre named "Code Red". These are now operating successfully in Sydney's west with others to open in the near future.
