  2003 Clown Town Frenches Forest Sydney

First of a series of children’s entertainment facility in 2003. One part was a large early school child minding facility, the other was Clown Town. The brief was to have a themed party rooms, one of which doubled between the two businesses and three others would, once the partitioned doors were open, make one huge party room. This was achieved by carefully selecting the colour pallet but also the themes. All the figures were created for this commission.

 

 
       
       
  Egyptian Spar

In 1994 “Blackwood Beauty Therapy” commissioned JHD to paint  Trompleol of an Egyptian crypt. Due to the nature of the openings, and a limited amount of wall area, surrounds a large but intimate spa. It was agreed that it would work visually if the mural depicted the inside of a crypt. 14mt. X 6mt. X 2.4mt.h

 
       
       
  2007 Clown Town Rose Hill Sydney In April 2007 these theme rooms were dressed to enhance each room to compliment the original designed murals and characters. This was part of an overall theme when JHD was commissioned  to design in keeping with their existing children’s franchise entertainment facility. Clown Town Parramatta is a 2200 sq. meter area holding a 150 seat cafe, four themed party rooms, the largest indoor jungle gym in the southern hemisphere, a huge climbing wall and various children’s rides and activities.

 
       
       
  2004 Russell Crowe 1st. Nursery Sydney Woolloomoolloo walf

Russell and Danielle Crowe commissioned JHD to design and paint their nursery. This involved walls, ceiling and hallway mural based on the Edith Blighton's book “The far away tree”.

  Sydney Aquarium

Just before the Christmas of 2008 the Sydney Aquarium made a substantial renovation to their western enclosure which used to house a flock of penguins. Their plan was to create a completely new and up to date home for the aquariums’ Dudgeons. As part of the plan involved a mural would cover the walls of the ramp enclosure which allows visitors to venture down to the under water viewing tunnels on the bottom floor. All this had to be completed in just over 3 weeks and having achieved this, but maintaining quality and detail for which we received a great praise and accolades.

 
       
       
  Sydney Wildlife World 2011 In 2011 JHD was commissioned to paint an 800 squ.mtr. mural inside a pre-existind ramp area. It had to be painted as opposed to applying a printed image due to the rough surface texture and countless obstacles.

 
       
       
  Awkward Bar Sydney Darlinghurst

In December 2011 JHD was commissioned by Siren Design (Mia Feasy) to illustrate a Bar in Darlinghurst Sydney. The breif was to encaptulate the "Awkward" them, awkward thought, awkard ideas, etc. in an Alice in Wonderland, hand drawn, illustrated story book style

 

 
       
       
  Greece 2004

In 2004, on the Greek island of Leros is a 300 year old town house with a well protected court yard. The design was to incorporate some of the local historical Italian architecture and the owners daughter. 6.000.w X 2.400 Greek mythological figure called Peseporni is the Godess of the Spring.

 
       
       
  Grand Ramada Hotel Adelaide

With a healthy professional relationship the “Grand Ramada Hotel”, JHD was commissioned to design and implement a way of making this particular restaurant feel more like an American bar and grill but still retain an air of sophistication and leaving all the existing wall paintwork and décor. Five years later, a change of owners, the Ramada initiated a complete makeover for this section of the hotel. Everything was ripped out and painted over to then create an old English style pub and as part of their directive it was to be called      “The fox and hound”.

 
       
       
  Vaucluse residence
